hello and please bear with me... i have a 402 bb in my 79 k20, recently i changed the oil and noticed that the valve cover on the driver side was leaking (nothing new but showed signs of getting worst since last time)..since the parts store was closed for the evening i changed the oil at my parents house(it is heated), then drove to my house..about a mile away it started to smoke, got home and noticed oil all over the driver side exhaust manifold, frame, wires, you get the picture...next morning i go to the parts store and change out the valve cover gasket, Now problem is the truck wont fire..it will turn over but i am not getting spark i am getting fuel, and motor will crank but just no spark when i unscrew spark plug and ground it too the block...when i pulled the distributor out and pulled the cap off found alot of oil inside.(i believe it is from the valve cover gasket explosion).i did clean it out but still nothing, also bought a new module for the distributor but nothing.....i do have voltage going into the distributor and into the module but no spark... need a new distributor??ANY IDEAS WOULD BE GREAT....thanks in advance

It must be an HEI dist. THe coil sits on top of the cap, check and see if oil got in coil cap and you might want to change the cap and rotor.
