there is no such thing as four barrel or 2 barrel heads.......they are just heads....you can mount a 4 or 2 barrel carb on any intake with whatever adapter is needed....

Ding ding ding! We have a winner!

Seriously though, you can mount anything to anything with a little ingenuity.

Now if it is a good idea or not or if it will even work is a whole nother conversation.

Well i was just asking because ive rebuilt my 69 350 chevy and it came stock with 2 brl intake and carb so i bought a new holley 600 cfm and its not running right if you ease into it ,it will run ok but if you try to get on it it makes a wierd fluttering noise and has no power.just trying to figure out what could be the problem....i ve spent almost $600 bucks in the last month and still havent found the problem.

no, heads won't do this...you have a timing issue, or a carb issue..your heads might need a valve job but that wouldn't cause what your describing

like 15 btdc also with the vac adv dist in i cant turn it any further because the intake is hitting the vac adv canister but even with the heino vac adv dist and it turned to 4 btdc it still acts the same way thats why i didnt think it was a timing issue but a head issue....

I'm at about 4500 feet above the water and I run mine at 16 deg advanced. Check your overall timing with vac and see what that is. It sounds like a timing issue because of the easing into it and then trying to get on it it don't *** Did you adjust the valves properly? Install the cam and timing chain properly? Just asking. It could also be lack of fuel. I've been down this road about a month ago and a friend of mine had similar issues and he fought that truck for weeks, changing everything from the plugs, the wires, distributor, he even changed the cam in the motor of all things. He finally listened to me when I told him to change the fuel filter. Not saying this is your problem at all, you have something besides that going on.

the fact tat it only happens under load is a gian hint i just don't know wat its pointing to......i really doubt it has to do with piston or rings

I would guess it is a carb issue. It sounds like it's starving for fuel above 3k. You might have to step up in fuel pumps and even add a fuel pressure regulator. If you went way up in cam and carb, etc and still have the stock fuel pump it is definitely not going to keep up.
