manontractor: i think you need to start a new thread haha, you threadjacker you
YZ250JV: Hey, I like the Scouts too. A friend of mine had one all tricked out for the rocks and I have to say they have some major capabilities! My first truck was a 71 IH heavy half with a 304 and 3 speed with 3.73s. The sad thing was, it had more GM parts on it than IH. I bought it for $100! I took that thing everywhere and it didn't matter if it was loaded or empty it got 12mph. I put a 40 gallon tank in the bed and back then it would cost me 40 bucks to fill it when it was empty and still get me a soda and have a little change left over! Didn't mean to jack your thread. I would like to see a new IH Scout. They were built to last. I actually seen a 74 or so for sale today that I might check into tomorrow. The bodies usually don't rust out. They have good reliable engines too.
no sweat man just bustin your balls a lil bit haha

imagine a modern scout but based on the jeep jk chasis, wider body so there would be no fender flares and of course thicker doors. two door only and 100" wheelbase just like the scout II and maybe a terra as well so we could have a pickup.

wolfgang bernanrd, ceo of chylster group once rhetoricly asked"does every jeep have to go down the rublicon trail? I dont think so." not long after he was relived of his dutys sighting "ireconcilable difrences with the jeep brand and its objectives" makes you wonder, is chrysler diluting jeep or is the general public. maybe they are trying hard to keep with traditon and being forced to make these changes to stay alive. Im sure they still have the botom line in mind. they are a publicly traded company after all. and if international did buy jeep, they would definatly take it in a better direction. My point is that maybe crslr.is not as big of jerks as some may think. they are still big jerks just not as bad as all that.

i have said that before, it is not neccesarily the company that is misguided, they are simply keeping up with market demand and changes.

i think if chrslr did not have stock holders to please we would still have the great hemi instead of the watered down version, all (mostly) metal jeeps with v8s ,and a lot less to talk about. i still think the universal jeep desine has stayed somewhat true. it does what it is meant to do it just has more creature comforts that it began with. that is if you want to spend the cash to upgrade the eqp. from the factory. still needs a v8 or deisle.

"they are a publicly traded company after all."
No they are not. Chrysler LLC is actually a privately held company owned by Cerberus Capital Management.
Anyway, there is our business lesson for today.
