Hahaha... that would be great! Wouldn't have ever guessed I'd see a Scout with a Fire Chicken on the hood...
I still like "Scout Master", I highly doubt anybody will take that in any sort of wrong manor.
And if they do I guess it's fitting anyway since Scouts are the pedophiles of SUV's... lol

"but I dont see the connection with "Scout Master" and a pedaphile???"
Fatguy brought it up... but it comes from some events that were in the news a few years back involving the Boy Scouts and a few scout masters abusing their position... yea... I don't see it either but I guess some might.

How about "The Girl Scout" and you can paint it up like a box of Thin Mints. Or did we already veto that one?

actually, does scout need to be in the name at all? how about "casey" since case is a line of tractors made by international harvester and the engine in a scout came out of a bus or tractor.

Ok assuming you guys want PR, below might work? Name it Eagle Scout.
Paint it in a boy or girl scout theme.
Set up a trail clean up volunteer event with the local scout team, get a bunch of us to go (each drive take a scout). We can even Camp!
I think it will be fun!

Ok, let me apologize, it was in poor taste and I meant no disrespect to the B.S.A or any of the countless volunteers who serve as Scoutmasters. I know it was a rotten thing to say. I have a great deal of respect for Scouting and I'm sure the BSA would be honored if you did a tribute to their highest rank (The Eagle Scout badge is the only civilian award authorized to wear on the US Army class A uniform).

I know you said reinforce the frame a bit, BUT, zinc plating, if it's the hot process, tends to weaken the parent metal it's bonding too. It'll be more flexible. Also, if the metal is not clean, i.e. sand blasted or in a "white" state, preferably no mill scale, rust, or dirt, then it tends to "blow out," leaving holes in your steel. This has been my experience, but you might want to look in to it. Scout frsmes don't really rust unless they're in an EXTREMELY salty environment and get repeatedly abused. What rusts are the bodies, namely above the rear wheel wells, rocker panels, windshield frames, front cab body mounts. These are the places to gice extra attention too. Also, a Scout II frame is fully boxed, sub arc welded along the mating seem. A know weak point is the leaf spring hanger mount at the frame on the front leaf, rear mount. BTW I thin Scoutmaster would be awesome! Keep it low tech, maybe SOA front/ rear, reverse shackle, long traavel shocks, maybe a nv4500 or 700r4 conversion with Blackwood Labs adapter, TBI or MPFI available from IH Only North. That would be cool.

cbmind, Thanks for the advice! I'll assess the frame once I get a chance to tear the truck apart. Maybe simple black paint would be the way to go on the frame. The body on this thing is cherry. That’s really the main reason I’m planning to build it. I like the Scout Master name a lot, but Eagle Scout implies that the rig has all-but mastered each discipline of 4-wheeling and is as close to perfect as one can be. It defiantly fits with the do-all nature of how I would want it to end up. I really want to paint a big eagle/fire chicken on the hood too. I will totally do the S.O.A. and shackle reversal, fuel injection and automatic trans. Thanks for the tips of where to get the stuff. I’ll be researching this further in the coming weeks.
You can do anything you dare to dream.
