i recently had my flex plate brake. it spun the middle right out. now i am trying to remove the bolts one i can not get. the motor keeps spinning on me and losening the damper pulley bolt. I have tried to heat the bolt but still won't come out. i am out of ideas. if anyone has a idea i am open for suggestions.

use a pry bar or large screwdriver, put it in the teeth and against the block....

Use a big impact gun with 6 point sockets and it should remove it and you will not have to hold crankshaft from turning either. If engine was warm it would help but that would be hard to do at this point.

and don't forget to tighten the crank pulley down again. not trying to be smart-a...   a friend of mine just recently had the same situation on a 4runner and forgot...it made an ugly mess when the bolt backed out.

impact guns are the biggest NO NO you can do to a converter bolt... the impact can break the pad loose, some times undetectable till ya find they are leaking...

DO NOT USE AN IMPACT WRENCH ON YOUR CONVERTER BOLTS!

don't ask how I know this!

You are not reading well today. It is the bolts in the end of crankshaft not torque converter. Impact gun is the ticket here.

if you don't have the room for impact a good 1/2" ratchet or a 1/2" short breaker bar and a 2lb dead blow will break them loose
