I have always been a Chevy guy, but had to get rid of my lifted M1009 diesel last year since we had our first son.  It was underpowered and not the least bit kid friendly.

Now I am looking for a slightly more practical daily driver/trail vehicle.  I think the wrangler would be a good fit, but I am not sure whether I should go with the YJ or TJ.  The main difference between the two models seems to be springs vs coils, so I am leaning towards the YJ (manual I6) since I already have experience with installing spring lifts.

It will not be a big project truck, but will most likely receive a lift (less than 4") and slightly lager tires.  Does anyone have a preference between the YJ and TJ and why?  Are there any problematic years that I should avoid?
