I just purchased a 2000 Excursion with a V10 and want a better sound out of it. I heard V10 is a hard engine to get a good sound out of because of the firing order. Any suggestions on a good exhaust ? I would like to keep it single up to the Cat but then put a nice muffler on it and come out with duals if at all possible. Suggestions would be great..

Ford V10's general sound pretty bad with duals. (Dodge V10's do much better and likely because of head design, manifold design and uneven fire too) Ford V10's kinda sound like a 2 cycle motor boat. I would suggest that you maybe try a single muffler with 2 in and 2 out or 1 in and 2 out (depending on how your exhaust is plumbed) as it will balance pressure and sound better and should sound a lot better. You put true duals on it, you are not going to like the sound.
