yeah its a really an embarrasing situation , but i wounder if we let the big 3 die, some other automaker will emerge and imagine the new products we will have then!!!       ??? well im still very dumbfounded  by this matter, its just hard to think of a world withoug GM or Ford or Chysler

"you know, this will be like "you bailed the economy out how come you cant bail me(the auto industry) out".and then "you bailed the auto industry out out how come you cant bail me (put busness name here) out! itll go on and on and on... pathetic."

I do agree somewhat with what you have said here. But lets be clear. I am not lookin for a bailout...it was just to make a point...one you brought up very well.
So that being said....F*** the whole bailout! Its a bunch of *** and they made their own beds....now they should lie in them! What happens after they have used that money and still have their heads up their a**ess?? Are you as a tax payer ok with giving them more after that? They thought the first 85 billion would be enough for AIG....and look what happened! They had to have 40 billion more or so...???
I just don't see it as being fair to the amereican tax payers. The rich livin' rich on our dime...and you know thats where it will be headed!

Bail Dave OUT????
Nobody's going to bail Dave out because Dave kicks gluteus maximux.  And if the Big 3 had tehnproducts and kicked rumps, they would'nt be in the dump heap that they are today.   Arrogant tough luck.

And the threat of all the lost jobs, BALDER DASH!  Sure, there will be some, but we still drive a lot of cars!  If we can't make the hottest wheels on the planet, then we should accept working hard for those who do.  Golden Rule #1 - he who has the gold makes the rule.

Detroit needs more hot heads like Dave and wake the F up. Love your job, be the best, or retire

Gm fogot about the little guy right around the time the andale mami ee eye ee eye ads came out,ohh and calling a fwd car an ss? a cobalt ss??? no.
marketing bo nasty looking vehicles, to the top tier consumer, letting the image of hummer go chrome, making a four wheel drive vehicle with low flying front bumpers, the last good looking gm four by was made in 1986.
kidding..now that all you GM guys have your chonie's in a mire, there HAVE been some ugly gm trucks put out lately. but that is a symptom all across the board, trying to be "edgy" hip" etc. why not make a car the average guy can fix and build! simple and 3d world reliable, no little 60 to 120,000 mile front drive cars here, make them mogolia tough, mexico outback tough, you get the idea.
ohh and all the overpriced under performing ceo's etc, this is your notice.

Well...Id hate to say I told...BUT CITI bank looks to have $20billion dollars thrown at it now too.
And heres a thought...If the Bushmiester signed a $700billion bailout to help the economy, why is everybody still getting laid off?!  thats not helping in my book!

I'm a die hard Ford and Chrysler man, and would hate to see anything happen to any of the big three, but I can't feel sorry for anyone who flys on their corporate jet to Washington to ask for a bail out!

I bet the big three wish they had taken all that money they threw at lobbist to keep congress from passing the new mile per gallon bills, and invested it in engines that that got better MPG's.

i think its a combonation of horrible mis management and the thought that something forigen is better than something domestic. my family has owned a grand total of 3 cars and a several trucks. of the 3 cars we still have 2. the first car we ever owned was a 1986 ford escort pony. nnow i know this is hard to beleave but we put 500 000 miles on that car before it fell apart. we also have a 93 escort that is at 390000 and still runs strong, but the ohio winters take their toll. the point is is that the US auto makers can build something just as good as the *** auto makers. letting the american auto industry fold would start the destruction of our country. there is much more at steak than the people directly employed by the auto industry. there are many more american jobs that depend on the survival of the auto industry. from mill wrights to machinests to vendors and suppliers. Buy American.

Country Boy 2007  has got it right. There is a lot more to lose than the big 3. There are thousands of companies that make a living supplying products to the auto makers. This is a lot more involved than a lot of you guys think. They need to be saved and restructured for the economies sake. Please don't ban me for my opinion!!!Sorry.

soo... what ever happend to the " an american revolution" ad's that they were putting out... because most of those vehicles were pretty revolting... but i don't think that's what they were going for... if they had really gone through a bit of a revolution and come up with some decent vehicles... throw a turbo on something and give it a bit more power... and increase fuel economy... better yet put a small diesel option in everything... give people what they want instead of making them settle for the lesser of the evils... or the most shiny pile of cr@p... what makes an H2 a $50,000 vehicle??? they're basically the same as a tahoe used to be... sell an H1 Alpha for 50,000 and an H2 for 25-30 grand depending on options... once they started making loans for expensive things easier to obtain prices went up... and they kept going up... no you can spread payments on a house out for 30 years so the can make you pay 250,000 bucks for a nice house... or 40 grand for a nice car/truck over 10 years... if you had to pay a vehicle off in 3 years then the only vehicle people would by would be a max of 20 grand and prices would have to come down... and as for the union stuff... sorry don't agree with you there... try working in a welding shop for 10 hours a day just to make 17 bucks an hour... that's dirty back breaking work by the end of the day and it's a truly honest wage for honest days work...

well we farm and i bust my a$$ for my pay but the point is letting the big 3 fold will put a kill shot in our country. the town i live in has 4 major employers. Ford, Huskey energy/PCS nitrogen, Lima tank plant and P&G. if ford went under there would be a huge layoff here and it would kill many of the shops and suppliers that are in the area. to kill the big 3 would be to kill the American economy.
