i got a 68 396 and was wondering how the hell do i tell if the engine is hot or not i dont see anywere a line could hook up to the heads which a 66 heads hoping someone knows the answer

It has been many many years since I have owned a 396 but as a recall early ones had temp sensor in intake near Tstat housing. With older heads you many have wrong intake if it has no place for sensor.
