a double yes on the water wetter, eliminates water tension or the "skin" of the water allowing it to make more direct contact with your engine and radiator which means better heat transfer.

does your pressure come back off when your at speed???

5w50 is a little thin when its cold for a jeep motor, but at 50 when its at operating temp it should be fine.  try going with a 10w30high mileage oil and see if it helps.   alot of times as engines wear you can thickin up the oil to bump up the oil pressure alittle bit. since the clearances in the bearings and other junk get bigger as they wear out.

How many miles do you have on the jeep???  are you sure your oil level is full??

now thickining up the oil is not a fix or nessecarily a good practice. but it does work to prolong a engines death.  low oil pressure is a really bad thing.  your head/valve train need that oil for lubrication.

example on oil specs/weights.  the higher the number the thicker the viscosity.   the first number is the oil's viscosity when cold.  the "w"  stands for winter and the second number stands for its viscosity at operating temp.

aslso everytime you overheat an engine you should change the oil.

you can add redline water wetter to your coolant without flushing your system

My motor has about 85000 mi. on it, i believe that is low for those 6cyl. jeep motors. I live on the central coast of Cali.so it doesn't get very cold. I choose the heaviest oil i can find and hopefully on sale. I was wondering if those jeep oil pumps are prone to premature wear?
