I have a 1995 HB, I've had it several years now. I've always took it 4-wheeling on my family land or friends land & had a great time & lots of luck in the mud & different types of terrain. I'm starting to get more into off roading & starting to go to different parks & 4x4 trails. As I'm sure everyone knows, all you see is Jeeps, I love Jeeps, but I also love my HB. I do need to upgrade some things on my HB if I'm going to doing more 4x4 trails, but am I fighting a losing battle, are Jeeps that much better suited?? Is upgrading my HB for true off road not a good Idea?? Do I really need to go buy a Jeep. My HB is awesome, but is it really not a good choice for true 4x4 trails?? Everyone jump in on this thread please.

I think youre comparing apples to oranges! Jeeps were created to be off road vehicles so they are naturally more popular. Wheelin's in their DNA. Nissan makes a great little truck (as you know), and they do well offroad. Set up properly, and with the right driver, your Nissan truck will do anything a Jeep will do. A jeep is a jeep, and a pickup is a pickup.

i'd jump in and say,"get the jeep!" but i won't......lol i have two, so i might be a little bias'd. like boss said (don't wanna call ya fatguy), if ya set it up right, it'll be a good truck. it all depends on what ya wanna do. if you're looking at hill climbing or mud pits, the longer wheel base will be to your benifit. tight, technical stuff is better left to a shorter wheel base. rocks........i don't do those (not since my army days)

Fatmans right, the reason Jeeps are popular is because their DNA. They have several advantages over pickups, even small ones such as yours. The two main ones are approach and departure angles, and then of coarse a solid front axle. As Fatman said though your HB is a great truck and set up properly, can really perform off-road. I was given a '94HB for a company truck once and it was great. I thought it would have gottn better gas milage than it did though.

The bad mpg's is part of being a Nissan! Except for that little putter putt ringa-ding versy or whatever you call it Nissans get crappy mileage! Even the small Altima is kinda weak. I do like the Titan though.

You got that right I drove that Nissan from my home town just south of Richmond to Virginia Beach. I filled up before I left, drove three hours and had only 1/4 tank when I arrived in VaBch. I did the same trip with my F150 suppercrew and had 3/4 tank.

You think that's bad, my CJ is worse. I fill up here at the house, drive to the other side of San Juan to my freinds house and back, which is 40 miles round trip and have 1/2 tank.
