Hi,

I just wanted to know what the normal EGT temp range is for a 24V cummins engine? I just bought a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT (single cab long box, manual tranny), for peformance parts it has an Edge Juice controller with attitude, K&N filter, and a 4" magniflow exhaust.  My EGTs are in the 500-800 level depending on how hard i drive it, on the highway it usually levels out to a high 5 or low 6 hundred degrees.

Any info would be great!

Those temps are no problem at all if taken near exhaust ports. If it is taken down stream (past turbo) the readings are of not much value. Generally you want to stay below 1100 max on a very hard pull and not stay there long. (you want to be below 1000 for sustained pulls). At around 1300 you will have engine damage.
