Is it possible to convert a D44f Chevy 6 lug to 8 lug im looking to build a hardcore crawler and need 8 lugs plus most of the rims and tier combos around here for sale are 8 lug 16 1/2 rims. From what it looks i think all i need to do is switch hubs. Help

just a FYI 16 1/2 is out alot of wheel and tire companys are cutting them. 6x5.5 is very common any chevys and 6 lug toys share the same bolt circle, you may want to go with a cast design heavy wheels but will stand that typr of abuse forged wheels will bend faster

Yes,but why? You'll need hubs/roters, caliper mounting plates might need spindles if bearings are different 8 lug calipers have bigger piston but 6 lug will work, lockouts are the same. Easy conversion...But you still end up with a 44...It WILL blow up.Best thing to do,save up and buy a 60,you wont regret it.

The hubs/rotors with swap with no problems. It is the same axle from spindle back. There is no difference between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton D44's other than hubs.

What size tire you going to run on this hardcore crawler? That's going to dictate what axle size and gear ratio's your going to need.
