I have a 89' Cherokee and I took it out muddin and fried my alternator, why would they put the alternator way down low?? But I love muddin and I cant think of anything, I cant jus keep buying a new alternator everytime i want to go have some fun!! What can I do any IDEAHS??

Find a aftermarket MilSpec alternator that is sealed for harsh environments or stay out of mud. No easy fix here.

You might check around online for some boneyards that might have some scrap military vehicles. It uses a Dodge alt.
