No, Forestry Service just kept the water in the dam longer than usual. I'm on the ACORA site daily and from the latest pictures the canyon is due for a mid to late August opening.

Wow, that's the most water I've seen in there in many many years! It's going to be GOOD when it gets opened. We need to make an "opening day" run to Azusa for sure!

OHHH yeah, i'm all over that. haha
ACORA is staging several work parties to get barriers back into the canyon, I figure after that's all done, we'll get the green light.

There is speculation that it may open on Sunday, July 27. There is a work party going on this saturday at the 2nd water crossing to put up some barriers and remove some debris.

Looks like the Canyon opened up this last weekend. The Rangers only let in about 75 trucks so everything was closed off pretty early. In the coming weeks more water will be let out and more space for us to play. I can't wait.
As far as what to bring...I'd suggest a tow-strap at the very least.

Only 75 trucks huh... interesting... wonder if there was any mud or if people were just fishing in the lake... lol
