that 2.8 is a Turd! with a capitol "urd"! it was a decent power plant in a small car (berretta, corsica, etc) but it had issues. also nowhere near enough power for a truck/suv. The later 4.3 was a HUGE improvement. i had a '88 S10 blazer with a puke-point-eight liter. even with stock tires and some bolt ons(K&N, H.0 ign, exhaust, and a chip) it was pathetic!

Y ai agree on the 2.8 turdish engine(forein mfg?) any how i was agonizing coz i got my student loan and had delusions of grandure. You know a Jegs catalog pipe dream.S-10 9inch rear, 454 small block, a detroit in the back, a jeep dana 44 with a arb in the front, a 208 and 700 r4, and 35.15.50 swampers. but that wont happen on any buget i got. bummer...so... back to the Shankspony model 12 1/2 wide with the mud terrain tread-s. with the lace up feature. it has all limb drive, and runs on food and water and red bull! it hasnt left me on the side of the road yet, but body needs some work...its 41 years old and is kinda rough. but its paid for!
