I am buying a 94' GMC 4x4 3/4 ton, put the engine has 380,000 km on it, and I have a nice 350 that has only 50,000km on it. What is the easiest way to put the 350 carb. into a truck that has fuel injection motor.

I would not do it. The 79 motor is a low compression smog motor and not really suited for TBI swap. Yeah some do it but it is not wise. If you swap it to a carbed setup then tranny will not work right because that year tranny is electrically controlled by ECM with will be lost with TBI engine. You could swap in a 92 or earlier 700R4 then but then when you are done is is going to use more fuel than when you have now because of motor. The TBI motor has higher CR, different cam, different heads that help swirl mixture into cylinder for better low and mid RPM torque and response. BTW 380,000 Km is about 200K miles and that is not excessive for a well maintained 350. I have seen them go 500K miles (or about 900,000 KM) in fleet usage.

Ya I have been talking to a few buddies, they say the same thing. So I am going to switch every oil in the 94 to synthetic, an when the engine goes I will just get a new one for that truck. It is still cheaper than getting a new truck, plus I like the looks of this one. Thanks for your input.

DO NOT switch to SYN oil now as it can cause problems. Just use a quality engine oil and change it often (every 4000 KM or less) and use 10w30 (you could use 5w30 in winter if you want but NEVER 10w40) Also, put fresh fluid in axles, tranny and Tcase too. BTW, Tcase uses Dexron ATF fluid.

I hear ya, my plan is to keep running normal oil in the engine, and was planning to take the diffs, transfer case, and tranny, witch is a 5 speed and rebuild if nessary, then put in syn. oil. Had a buddy switch everything over, and in 3 months had to replace engine and transfer case. I should of been more specific about the syn. oil, sorry my fault.
