I have a 86 chevy 4x4 and fill plug in rear differntial is *** up real bad any ideas on how to get it out?

weld an old short extension or crappy socket to the plug then it should come out.

Drill a hole and use a pipe extractor but then you would need to remove the cover and clean and change the oil.  If i had the welder i would do that as well though.
