Hey all. Just wanted to get some general feedback from you. I'm into off-roading. But I am scaling back. I've got 96 Jeep GC. I have been running Dueler AT Revos 235/75/15. They are starting to lose all there tread now with about 40-45 thousand on them. I'm considering going to an HT but I'm concerned about traction, specifically in the snow. I live in Michigan. But I also spend maybe 75-80 percent highway, 10 city, 10 country roads in regular driving.

I'm looking at the Michelin LTX M/S for 106 per and free shipping at discounttiredirect.com. I know decent price for it.

But I'm tempted by others here is my list.

Regular Dueler AT D693. (japanese made, but 4 for 3 with a promo I've got available which would make it $388)

Pirelli Scorpion ATR (Venezuelan made at my size, yuck. Hugo chavez doesn't get a red cent from me) But good traction, etc (unsure about wear), for 107 per at discounttiredirect.com

And the Firestone Destination A/T, US made heard good things for $495 installed.

Then the previous mentioned LTX M/S, US/Canadian made, but a french company, yuck, well they are getting better they just elected a proamerican conservative President)

I was also looking at the Michelin LTX AT 2 but at 140 a pop from discounttiredirect.com on special order I don't know how high on the list that one is.

So any input from you tire gurus and non gurus would be helpful. Also I drive rather spiritedly and think a ht would be much better overall for me.

Thanks!

Not all the Duelers are Japanese made. Quite a few are made in Tennessee(in fact, that size!) If you are serious about going with HT's also consider The Firestone Destination LE, The Widetrack Baja Ht, Dayton Timberline Ht,all of which are fantastic tires, made by skilled American workers who would greatly appreciate your business.
I may be a bit biased but my kid's gotta eat.

Knowing what winter can be like in Michigan, you might even consider the Blizzak. It is supposed to be "da poop de jours" in the snow/ice but fairly well mannered on the dry "Dunka-Dunka" busted up Michigan roads!
