I have an '89 chevy silverado 1500, 5.7L efi, and a NP241 transfer case. I was wondering if a 700r4 from a '86 GMC sierra will bolt up to my motor and transfer case???

It will bolt up but there is about three different wiring harnesses for tranny that could be involved here. If you have the wrong match. Converter lockup will not occur or it could blow a fuse too. Pre TBI 700R4's handle lockup routing a bit different than TBI ones so I would suggest that you look for a 87 to 92 700R4 if you want to be 99.9% sure it is all going to work with a simple bolt in swap. Also since this is a 89 truck, you also want a 87 on tranny because they added a secondary valve body in 87 for shift quality (last real revision to 700R4) and 86 and earlier does not have it.
