jeep is having some issues, i am having no pulling power on a grade, any grade. its running rough/ sputtering. i thought it might be a head gasket cause of the sound it was making, so i did a compression test and all cylinders were between 155 and 170. i am starting to lean towards fuel filter. but i need to check fuel pressure, anyone know process, someone told me there should be a shrader valve. ????any help ideas would be appreciated. i have kinda run into a wall with ideas.

Your Jeep's not under warranty anymore? Isn't it like an 05 or 06?
On the top of the engine you will see the fuel injectors and fuel rail, along this rail there is a schrader valve. I have no clue how much pressure it is supposed to have though, probably somewhere in the 60-70 psi range. How you check that exactly I'm not sure... tire gauge? lol
Have you ever changed the fuel filter? That could be the culprit. I'm having very similar issues with my Ranger and I think I've narrowed it down to a clogged filter.

Jeeps have the life time filter inside the tank. I really doubt its the culprit.
do you have an engine light on????
Alot of time a TPS sensor or Cam sensor is the culprit. sounds like under load a sensor is going out of range. could even be a clogged catyic converter which IS under warrenty unless you have over 75k on the odometer

i thought about it being a sensor and the cat, looks like she will be getting a trip to the dealer. i was just trying to see if i could save some money and fix it myself, i heard somewhere that the filter doesnt require normal service unless fuel pressure is low, so i want to do a pressure test to see if thats where the problem lies. thanx for your guys' input
