i found a site that sells a gm ff 14 bolt rear with any gears and disc brake conversion for $3000.... what do you think a good deal ?

Well, figure 800 for a gear install, and say 500 for a disk brake conversion, so there is 1300. Then the question is can you get a 14bolt from a junkyard for less than 1700?
I would have to say not a great deal.

I would have to say not a great deal.
I would figure than less than 800 for gear and install but I agree, the point is you can get a 14 bolt in a bone yard, put disc brakes on it, regear AND install a ARB for a lot less than 3 grand. The moral is that it is not a good deal.

My experience is that with gears, install kit, and labor somewhere in that range is normal. But I did go for the high side.

As rear axles go, a 14 bolt FF is not a hard rear axle to setup because of removable and shimable pinion cage so they "should" do it cheaper than a Dana or the like if you shop around.
