does anybody know if there is a difference in gas mileage between a Hummer H3, Toyota FJ, and a Jeep Wrangler? are they all the same? does anybody know the real world mpg of these vehicles?  

They are all about the same, around 14-16mpg average. At least that is what I have seen in our testing, with the 6 cyl in the Jeep and Yota and I5 in the Hummer.

14-16 is average for around town in the H3. I'm getting 19-20 on the HWY.

the hemi gets that gas milage.   14 to 16 in the city and about 18 on the highway.  i like the H3 but my friends mom had one and the visibility is horrible according to him.

Your dreaming. Some can do okay but I have seen some do very poorly plus Dodge in its infinite lack of wisdom which spent a fortune on variable displace for Hemi (they are try to recoup money spent on it to date and extend its life a bit) they have not spent about 100 buck a 4x4 to design and use lockout hubs that can disconnect axle when in 2wd. The 100 bucks can cost you a few thousand in extra fuel over life of truck because it is ALWAYS dragging front axle drive shaft and diff in 2wd. (Dodge/Chrysler is the only Detroit auto maker that does not "believe" in true 2wd cruising. Giving today fuel prices it is a disgrace that they still make them that way.  

I wish my Super Duty would give me that kind of mileage. Keep reminding myself I didn't buy the beast for mileage. But it wouldn't hurt my feelings any if it did. Got 15,000 on it now so I assume it is about broken in.

Yea, it's retarded, those "Mid-Size" SUV's really need a V-8. The funny thing is that our I-5 H3's got the same fuel mileage as our V-8 Alpha does, or more our Alpha gets the same as the others. The small engines in those things have to work so hard to move their girth, where a V-8 could push it along with ease. Things are so backwards in the Mid-Size market...

Exactly. If the Mid-Size SUV's/Trucks were a little lighter, like say Ranger/S-10 size then the V-6's of today would get great mileage, in theory.

I mean these Mid-Size SUV's get the same mileage as a full size 1/2ton pickup with a large V-8... whats up with that?
