i have a 78 chevy 1/2 ton 12 bolt rear end,350,and came with a standard 3 on the tree which is now a floor shift.today my tranny popped and now thinking of changing to auto so wife could drive.any thoughts of how to go about it any special parts and what would be a good tranny like a turbo 350.but if all else fails i would just trade my muncie 3 speed for a saginaw 4 speed.any thoughts would be appreciated,thanks guys.  

Doing a Turbo 350 swap, would be pretty simple just need to chang out the flex plate and get the right spline count for your transer case. Figure out what transfer case ya have first. A th350 has a 27 spline output shaft and ya would need to find the correct adapter for the transfer case, to bolt it all in. And diff would need a tranny cooler also for it, hope this helps out a bit.
