I've got a 79 F150 4x4. Anyone already done the leg work to figure out which OEM parts to use to convert 9" rear to disc brakes? I've heard the rear discs, and mounting plates from late 90s explorers work with big bearing 9s. But how about rotors (5 on 5.5" flange)where you can still utilize P-Brake, and master cylinder? Also, for the D44 front axle, are there any upgrades to the front discs? like calipers with more than one piston. I've seen the nice expensive kits, but would rather not have to spend a grand each for front and rear.... any useful information would be appreiciated.

Look at http://www.bronco.com/cms/node/74 . I know it is for early broncos but it should work for you. As for the front, I never researched this mod.
