We own a 1994 Jeep Cherokee 4 x 4 that is driven by my step-son..While it was once a very nice Jeep that was owned by a postal office and used exclusively for such, it has since fallen into a state of disrepair after Andy moved to another state and back again. He got into an accident and didn't do the best job of maintaining the Jeep.. I was overjoyed to find the '94 in such mint condition on a used car lot with the 4.0 liter six freshly tuned-up, new transfer case, and nearly flawless paint job..I wanted it for my own but instead helped my wife purchase it for her son. I have been busy with repairs just to make the Jeep road legal, once again ( headlights did not work and the stated accident damage ) The driver's seat is broken and the carpeting is shot. I am willing to help Andy fix the Jeep, however, I am not willing to dish out the money to purchase brand new when he has trouble really appreciating what he owns..I see a cool, trail capable vehicle that has a great engine and near limitless possiblities. He sees a used vehicle that he thinks needs to be replaced by a Tacoma pickup..No disrespect but Jeeps are much cooler than a Toyota. I live in coastal Georgia and wouuld like to find a place that deals with remanufactured and salvage parts..Also, his birthday is quickly approaching and he has said he would like to replace the rims and tires..They are stock and I would to upgrade to a good set of used 31 X 12.50 tires, brand of tires and/or rims is not terribly important..I am not having any luck finding any used..Any suggestions on where I need to look would be greatly appreciated

if it's stock the 31's wont fit without some big rubing issues, even 30's will rub some. you'll find 30-31x10.5-15 easily and even some stock take offs from a 03-06 rubicon with 245x75-16's (31's) that will bolt right on though with some rubbing. check on craigslist.org in and around your area.
ya can put in some 2" spacers up front and add a leafs in the rear, (assuming it's a XJ), and nicely run the 31x10.5's, another option is install fender flares from a TJ wrangler which requires some fender trimming, they look nice on the xj.... larger than 31's are gonna need lower differential gearing to keep the economy and perfomance near stock.
the picture here is on 30" rubber with tj flares
