I was just reading the H3 article where they did the flat clear coat on it to make it a no bling paint job. I thought that was a good idea until the part about it leaving scratches, what the hell?? Shouldn't the exterior be tuff enough to run through some branches and not look like a bad encounter with a tiger. What about doing an exterior in Line-X or Rhino Lining and see how that holds up, seeing as how now you can color match the liner. Not too mention, if it's a trail rig, then make it tougher than the elements it has to go through.

I agree, thats what alot of guys are doing down here. Almost everyone in our Jeep club is using Herculiner or Line-X for exterior paint. A freind of mine had his whole Jeep powdercoated, it was expensive but it always lookes new after washing the mud off.

Do you guys know how heavy spray on bedliner? Spraying a whole vehicle weighs hundreds of pounds. It is not as good of an idea as it sounds, plus it looks like crap after a few years.

powder coat still scratches, plus when it takes a hit it flakes and cracks off then ya have real nasty lookin dent instead of somethin ya can just pop out.

Well you're right about the scratches, he hasn't had a hit yet s no dents. The guys with the herculiner are basically just trail rigs not daily drivers and the liner does help with the corrosin, which is a big deal down here in the Caribean.

And remember, the point of the H3 is a daily driver.
