NEWBY here..raw, new, and know nothing about this big gas hog i just bought.  All i know is it is a silverado, model v2s, fuel injected body style 4dsw, 234k miles, 350 engine v8, 400 trans, tow package, all power, air front and rear, seats 7-9 with 3 rows of seats,  that fold down, has new antilock rear brakes.
Most info from title and ad i bought from.
I am 72 yr old and never had a 4x4, but have had chevy vans.
Rear ent up way high, and shocks and springs so strong it is making car bounce when run over a cigarette butt.  haha  Anyway, why am i here...i just stumbled on to here and saw where a guy with 89 chevy suburban had all kinds of tech questions, and you nice young men were giving him all kinds of advice.
Where can i go to get all the tech info about this 4x4?  also what should i beware of, what should i look for?  etc etc...pls help an old man out here..am thinking i may have made a mistake altho has been well maintained and runs great.  Thanks for your kind consideration, Bill ps have heard this is great for pulling heavy loads but i have nothing to pull

You have a bit of a rare bird and a nice find if it is clean on solid. Those things were tanks and well built. Only bad thing about that model is that they had old THM400 which has not locking converter in tranny and no OD so it can be a bit thirsty. You will find though that if you set timing from TDC to 8 BTDC and use 89 octane or better fuel that it will run better and use a bit less gas.

I had checked all fluids and power steering didnt show up on dipstick so i filled it.  When truck stopped the first thing was the power steering stopped...i dont know if power steering was problem or not
I bought from private owner....do i have any rights...only had it one day and belt breaks????

You found a good truck. Getting a repair manule from the local auto pars store will fill in most of your FAQs. The power steering pump can have the shaft brake and still turn ok for the belt. Make sure you have the belt set on all the pully grooves ok. It is easy to have the new one lay over one groove, in or out, and eat the edge off your new belt.
If you trans pan looks kind of like the shape of Ohio, it is a 400, a good strong trans. It will have one wire going to the side of the case above the pan rail. If the pan it squared of and it has about 27 wires going to it, it is an L80E overdrive trans.
My 91 one ton has the L80E

There was no 4L80 in any 90 model and one in a 91 would be very rare and late in model year as 4L80 went main stream in about 1992
