I have an 89 full size Blazer with a 4 inch lift, (springs in front and blocks in rear). I recently aquired a 1990 3/4 ton suburban and I want to swap the axles. I was just wondering if anyone knows what other parts I might need for this swap... I would like to have everything ready before I begin... Thanks

Up front, you only need to swap the hubs for 8 lug support as from spindles back the axle is the same. In rear, axle should pretty much bolt it. I would swap master cylinder out of burb too because its rear axle has a bigger wheel cylinders and need more fluid flow.

Thanks, I never even thought about swaping the master. what about new rear spings, any ideas on where to buy cheap rear lift springs? I am trying to do this whole thing on the cheap! I know I'll also need all new U-bolts... any input would be awesome. I'm sure someone out there has done this exact swap before me...

Check your axle tube thickness, the Burb may have thicker metal from the diff to the hubs. Otherwise swapping just the spindles is the way to go. You get bigger outer bearing in the trade.

I have not actually looked at the burb yet, but if I am going to 8 lug wheels anyway, why would I have to swap the spindles over? Are they that different? Again I have never done this sway before, just wondering... Thanx

Spindles are the same, only the hub over them are different.

I swapped out my 10bolts for D44/14bff on my 82 K5. The axles were direct bolt-ins. You can keep the same springs, but will definately need new u-bolts. Check your brake lines - good time to replace. If you can change out the hubs only, I'll go that route. changing out the entire front axle is a pain, with the steering arm
