I was watching a episode of 4x4 tv before i got my xj, they were building a cherokee and where picking up a bunch of parts from junk yards, mainly some outer front axel parts to beef stuff up, does anyone remember the parts or can tell me what is easy and cheap to find to beef up dana 30 and 35. I know everyone will say get d44 or 8.8, but im wondering what other options i got, with my driving style i really dont see myself breaking my current setup but some cheap and easy up grades are always nice.

honestly your money would be better spent on a d44, I'm pretty abusive on mine and finaly toasted my rubicon d44 axle and carrier on labor day. there are super kits ya can get for the d30 and 35's though...

check it out!

i know there are arb kits that use a bigger stronger axel, is there a way i could buy a similar set up like a 30 spline lockrite and use different axel shafts, also what are some cheap vehicles to keep an eye out for with some good upgrades so i can watch my local listings, i have heard of dana 44 from izuzu or 8.8 from explorers.

Like Mud said go with the d44. The Super 30 and 35 doesn't change the weak axle tubes. Have seen the carnage on a Super 35 first hand. Didn't break the axle but the tubes bent, still out of business. If you do go with Super 30 or 35, recomend trussing the axle housing.

I'd go with a 44 or 8.8 (Explorer 96+)
