I have been looking online at lift kits and have come to realize I'm in the wrong rig to lift cheap.  I was looking at the 2" coil spacers which is the cheapest route to go at about 200 with new shocks.  I was curious about the bads and goods of these. I know I wont get more flex but i will get more clearance.  Just wanted to know anyones take on coil spacers, and if there are any other alternatives other then buying a 1500 dollar 4.5" suspension lift.

The only way to gain more ground clearance is with larger tires.

Think about it, whats the lowest point on your rig? The axles. How do you move these up? Larger tires. Lifts merely facilitate this. So adding a 200 spacer kit is great and all, but you're still going to need that $1,000 in tires to get any ground clearance gains out of it.

I agree with this but my next problem is i cant put bigger tires on the jeep until it is taller, if i go to a 245 which is a size over stock i rub. its not a real big deal cause it doesn't get off roaded often i just wanted to know the good the bad and ugly of coil spacers.

Spacer kits are a great affordable way to lift your rig a few inches. There really arn't too many down side to them. If all you need is 2" then go for it!
