I have a 1993 F-150 with the 300, I-6, 4.9L.  I changed the water temp. sensor that goes into my thermostat housing but later found out that that sensor was not the one for my temp. guage.  I then found another sensor way back on the passanger side of the engine, way towards the back and just below the head, and it has only one wire going to it could that be the water temp. sensor that goes to the temp. guage?

It takes big nuts to follow us.

if its on the side next to the spark plugs it could be the temp sensor or a knock sensor
