Kev, the trailer's up for sale right now, dual axle brakes with little use. If noone' snatches it, your welcome to use it. It's in Big Bear next to the house, though the hitch, adapter and straps are locked and unaccessible.

I was dumb enough to geek out on the Moab trip with keeping track of diesel mileage and the price...
So at $.45 per mile it will be about $450.00 each way, now if I can just get more down hills than up hills I can prolly make up a little.
Since it seems there will be less hills and passes to climb I will be optimistic and hope We can get $.40 per mile and save $100.00 over all...
UGH but I just remembered we will be adding atleast an extra 300-400 lbs with the addition of teenagers and the dog on this trip so I guess I am back up to $.45 per mile or more...
Yea I averaged somewhere around 8 MPG on the Moab trip, climbed a bunch of hills at 2500-2700 RPM and 2nd gear at about 30 mph...
Wayne if you dont have a reservation for a hotel by now I think you will be staying in either Santa Maria or Paso Robles, UGH!!!

A little distance won't hurt me much, since we got the Tundra this time. 20 mpg at 42.3 mph...we B cruisin'!

I thought you had seen our setup before Arthur...
We have the Dodge Ram 3500 dually Diesel 1997 6 Cyl.
Loaded down fully truck and trailer we are over 22k Lbs.
Like I said heading to Moab from WA it seems we are always climbing another pass or gradual hill. 3 passes in WA 4 good ones in OR, none in ID but in UT there are about 4 good hills to climb. Some are long gradual hills that seem to never end... Then the wind on the way back is a killer.
Here is our setup

Matt,
After Bob's trouble at Pismo withthe broken axle shaft, he made a few runs with the northern guys to the sierras and then dropped of the face of ORW and not heard from again... Kind of like you until now, Dood!
Arthur, FYI I checked my Moab gas spreadsheet and found i actually managed 9 MPG at $4.07 per gallon average $.45 per mile and about 260 gallons or so.
So I assume my cost per mile will be over $.5 for this trip with Diesel where it is now, UGH anyone want to donate to our trip fund???
FYI I will be missing a huge work event that is happening that weekend and will be losing some of my attaboy points to hook up with you guys!
Look forward to it...
FYI we will be celebrating 4 B-days on our side as well at Pismo and a surprise to be included on the dunes...

I'll throw in some cash for your trip Chris.
I can only imagine what a big ding 260 gallons of diesel for some camping with fellow wheelers is, on top of skipping a huge work event
you're the *** Chris! too bad you're not a socal'er anymore
