I just aquired a 1979 Dodge Power Wagon.  I know it has a 360 in it but I don't know too much about 360's.  I don't know what kind of 360 it is.  It's deffanatly carburated.  What I would like to do is find a stroker kit for it and a few other performance parts.  Does anyone know how I can tell what kind of 360 it is and where I can find good performance parts for it?

There was only one "kind" of 360. It was based off 318 "B" small block. Chrysler had a 318 and 361 "A" big block in late 50's and early 60's. It was a larger block with mechanical lifters too but it retired in mid 60's. Also AMC 360 used in Jeeps in 70's and 80's is not related to Dodge 360 at all.

Ok cool, I was afraid it would be like the 351 where there is the windsor and the cleveland or something like that.  Are there any good companies that you would recommend where I could get performance parts for a 360?

The biggest "problem" with a 360 is that it is basically a smog motor by design. It suffers for low compression, weak cam and intake system that does not flow well. Also the timing curve on it is very conservative too. A aftermarket intake manifold and a about a 500 CFM or so carb would be a good place to start. Please note with carbs bigger is rarely better as when they are too big for engine, the mixture velocity through venturi is too low for good mixing and response and power suffers. What this means in laymans terms is do not think that bolting a 650 or bigger carb on engine is going to give it more HP because over all performance is going to suffer.
