Hi everbody. I am new to this site and new to 4-wheeling. I just got my hands on a 67 Ford f-100 w/ 390 4-speed manuel short bed for $500. Body is pretty straight, runs ok but needs rebuild ( motor has never been rebuilt. I think transfer case is a Dana 21 ??does that sound right??? anyway it is stuck in 2high (transfer case only has 2 selections to choose from. Also cant get the front hubs to turn.Hubs are WARN but doent have a clue to when the last time they got used. I would like to slowley turn this into a streetable trail rig. Probaley start buy rebuild on motor, trans ( it rattles alot) and transfer case. The motor i can do myself no prob, the tranny and case i will have to send out. I have a good mech back ground and weld/fab have worked on dragsters and hot rods with my pop but just getting into the wheeling stuff now.!! any suggestions on were to begin ??? appreciate any comments/suggestions!!!!! THANX..

Howdy and Welcome! I'm new to this board myself, but always happy to see someone come into the fold of 4-wheelin. I used to 4 wheel a long long time ago, and just now gettin back into it now that all my kids are gone (not spending all my money on them anymore, well sort of ... lol). Anyway, it's alot different now than it was 20 years ago. Main problem I've found, is finding someone that will touch an old transfer case local - not happening (and I don't live in no city, so you'd think it more probable - NOT!). So gonna try it myself in the next month or so. Good Luck, and ttyl.

I wouldnt mind trying to rebuild the transfer case, just afraid i would never get it back together right!!! Plus i might try to up garde to a better case (NP205) or something in that range.
