ok we have some huge rotors,6 and 8 piston calipers, exotic matierials for brake pads, and said rotors. abs... My question goes here...why dont we have calipers that go most or all the way around the rotor? abs would take care of some lock up issues, my reasoning is are not tires ready for this kind of power? In a supercar yes I could see some problems, but say in a loaded 3/4 to tonner going down grapevine loaded to the goolies with concrete bags or pipe,,,You wont lock them up,you will heat them bu not lock them, but if ya had say somehow a full circumference of pads, the heat would be distributed over a wider area of pads. Do you think it would destroy the tires from the forces involved? there would be ducting to the large rotor, made of some matierial...X that would withstand heat,or big enough to accept the heat perameters...hmm what do you think?

ive heard of the racing community using some liquid cooling in the calipers, nitrogen injection would be cool, flow the liquid through the calipers first then spray the gas into the disc,? i think if ya didnt have abs you would do one of two thing, skid, or rip the tire to shreds, but..if it worked, your weight would want to keep you from locking up,until you scrubbed enough speed to let the abs take care of traction issues, wouldnt it be great? to actually have a set of brake that really would stop on a dime? I saw a while back the HUGE disc system on a freightshaker... dang! but i heard issues then of the gas produced when hot were causing longer stopping IDK,ime just a driver, but it sure is cool when one brake drum is wet and the other isnt, and ya have to stop inna hurry, thats a pucker factor 10! i tellya! i heard of a dual disc per axle system, but never saw one other than in pictures take care brother trucker,we gots tha funkee weather goin on!

what be cool would be a brake pad comparison test, you know?git the red sled loaded and find some one that can change brakes real fast over the course of a week, drive like ya stole a very heavy loaded fourby ,reapeted stops to fade, wet/dry perf, what else?

If it ain't broke don't fix it... When a vehicle is used as it was designed the stock braking system is more than adequate...
