Im planning to run some mud tires on my jeep wrangler, im looking for a tire in the 31-33 inch range that wears good on the highway and can get me through some mud nothing to severe just some stuff to have fun in. I was planning on running BFG's because i hear they are good in the much and have good road manners. But the guy at my local tire shop said they were "just noise" and recomended the Mickey Thompson Baja Claw im not sure if he was just trying to sell me a more expensive tire or it was the truth. Any thoughts?

If your not going to be running really deep mud then the BFGs will work great.  The BFG's track record speaks for itself and wouldn't have been around this long if it wasn't a good tire.  The Claws are also good in mud but won't last as long on the road as BFGs.  A few more good tires just for ideas from reviews and research I have done:  Cooper STT, Maxxis Bighorn, Firestone Destination MT, Dunlop Mud Rover, Trxus MT.  www.offroaders.com is a good site to find out what other people think of all the different tires out there.  It also has a much bigger list of tires.  Just scroll down a ways and click on mud tires.  Hope this helps.  Good luck!

as far as I'm concerned the bfg's were just as good as the claws I ran.

wanna talk about making noise?... go right ahead and get those noisy claws.

Yeah i think im sticking with the BFG's i can get them for a reasonable price and i dont want super noisy tires as it would drive my passengers nuts i think. The tires im running now are a little noisy but bearable.
