On the news recently to show how an engine can run on water. Pretty cool for diesel engines too.

the website to get the info is www.HHOwater4Gas.com

THis snake oil stuff has been floating around for many years and has been reborn with fuel prices. While water contains hydrogen and oxygen at the atomic level the bonds between atoms are very strong and it take far more energy to split them into a usable components than is recovered in when used as fuel. This has long be a hurdle to basically unlimited energy. Until fusion can be achieved which will produce more energy than needed to break hydrogen and oxygen bonds there is no future in using water for fuel. This technology is still many years away too. Anyone trying to promote using water as fuel is akin to flim flam artists selling snake oil.

sure the fuel cell technology isn't new. but extracting the hydrogen from water on the fly? good luck with all that. i want somebody to come up with a car that runs on urine. that way when i'm at the bar and gotta pee i just step outside and fill up.

wonder if cousin bubba was on to somthing before he blowed hisself up last week, saw him in rehab the other week, mumbleing something bout using his plasma cutter in water or some such, coupla zillion volts, stand uppy hair and smoke coming from his shorts,,ohh wait thats what he did!
Heya Fatguy, housabout when ya go to the buffit and eat a wad o cabbage .coleslaw, brocklie 7 bean chillie soup, all ya gotta do then is ...ahhh..plug in..maybe?
not saying i did it,but all i will say iz if ya smoke remember the hindenburg!

Getting even a gas engine to run on hydrogen is no big trick, The "trick" is making the hydrogen cheaply and storing it. Unlike LP gas (Propane) which is easily stored is a dense liquid state at normal temps it is not possible with hydrogen without extreme cold. It must be pressurized and cooled to minus 423F to be stored as a liquid.

Don't know how they do it exactly. Still pawing through the e book. If I figure it out...
The News Video showed how a whole POLICE STATION was using it, Even the MAYOR!

Again it is all hype and snake oil. Water injection can sometime boost MPG if your engine is needing more octane in its fuel because it can quell power robbing detonation (engines with super charger can use water injection to quell detonation under boost)but water injection is hard on valves and higher octane fuel is a better answer. You are not "burning" water though and as I said the energy needed to extract hydrogen for water far exceeds the energy recovered at this time.

I have now learned how to do it. I was directed by Republican Candidate - Wayland Smalley to this site as he had been promoting it as an Energy Solution. I've downloaded the e book and with a little help from a more mechanically minded friend got it installed. I've no experiance with it on deisel trucks but if it works as well as mine has - 30% improvement in less gas consmption is worth it.
It's simpler than it at first may seem. Basic concept is water containes 2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen. Through a simple process of electrolisis (12 volts) the molicules will seperate in to gas (HHO GAS. It a clean combusting gas 3 times better than regular gas or deisel. If you can cut through the "snake sayers" you can see this is not at all complicated.

Again you miss the point. It takes more energy to split the hydrogen from water than is recovered. Electrolysis is little more than a lab demo. Commercial supplies of hydrogen is made from crude oil. Until they can perfect nuclear fusion it is not practical to use water as a energy source. If you were to try to make a car that ran on water by making hydrogen for it on demand to burn, the energy required to make the hydrogen from it would far exceed the energy recovered. This has long been a stumbling block. Solar energy could be used to power electrolysis but it would take a lot of cells many times bigger than can fit on a car) Then this "free" energy source could produce and store hydrogen over time but them it is difficult to store hydrogen to stored in a liquid state it has to be cooled to 423 below zero otherwise it is stored as a high pressure gas which has very limited range potential for a vehicle. This is why propane is a very viable motor fuel as it burns clean and is easily stored in a dense liquid state. Until 50's, oil companies used to burn off propane (which is a byproduct of oil refining) until they started mass marking of it.
