In response to the October Techline answer, for the person wanting to lift the Dakota. Just go with a torsionbar/shackle lift for about $50.00 in parts. In the Dakota, blocks will lower the rear end, not raise it. The lowering shackles for a chevy pickup will raise the rearend about 1 3/4" due to a difference in the spring mounts and then you can crank the torsion bars about 8 full turns to get the 2" lift wanted there. This has been done safely and without effecting ride quality for over a hundred of thousand miles by many folks with no mechanical or steering related problems occuring. It won't even change your alignment enough to warrant having it re-done after lifting it, unlike doing an expensive lift kit install. This will only take a couple of hours, as the tow hitch has to be removed to get to one bolt on each side of the back end.

I actually purchased these products yesterday and installed the torsion keys and they worked great the shackles that I picked up actually lowered my truck! I was wondering if you could email me an after installation picture for the shackles I dont see another way to put them on but you may have the solution!
