Honestly there is not that much weight difference between a 1500 and 2500 CC with same basic engine.

you can order a chevy/gmc with a manual shift(floor mounted) transfer. you have to opt to delete the pushbutton and it defaults to the stick. it actually decreases the price by a couple hundred bucks. my '06 is set up this way. as far as it being "electronic", i don't know. i will look again but it sure feels like movin linkage. i will crawl under it this afternoon when i get up so i can satisfy my curiosity.
i do wish it was a manual tranny sometimes but it's easier to eat a chili dog in traffic with auto...and readin the paper? oh ferget about that with a stick!
