You maybe have a 10 inch TTB lift. TTB IS NOT IFS by any means.

The best thing you can do to pick up performance which is likely lacking because of a lift and tire is to regear the trucks axle. No modding you do to a 5.4 short of supercharging it and running 93 octane is going to turn a 5.4 into a torque monster and then super charging adds it own issues like increased tranny strain, increased cooling needed and 93 octane is a must have. Proper gear ratios are kinda the holy grail on lift power problems but many seem to ignore it.

Regear that thing, leave the engine alone. I have to agree with SnoMan on this. Why does everyone want to build these monster engines and don't even think past the bellhousing much less as far down the line as the axle ratios. When I was a kid my father told me decide what size tire you want and work your way back to the engine from there. Hey it's worked so far.

Jungleboy4, yer father sounds like a wise man! My question is: "Why do so many people worry about gas mpg's???" Do ya wanna wheeler or a froo froo hybrid? If gas mileage is really that big of a concern maybe they don't need a 4 wheel drive vehicle right now.

I agree, but the real concern is the price. No one would care about mpgs' if the gas was a $1 a gallon would they? Even us off-roaders have a weak spot, "The Wallet" Chevy already has the hybrid Surburban. Question is how does it perform off-road. Please don't say we don't need 4 wheel drive vehicles, that's a curse word. Have you heard Fords' plan to scratch the Ranger and decrease production of the Superduty, what's up with that? What's us contractors to do for reliable 4x4 work trucks.

99 and 00 F-150s weren't TTB... they were A-Arm. F-1's lost their beams in '96, along with Explorers. Ranger's lost their beams in '97.
And TTB and TIB were both forms of Independent Front Suspension.
Just FYI.
