which is better? Mixed driving with my rig being a daily driver and lots of hunting. Pretty harsh winters too. Not interested in an All-Terrain. Size being a 32/11.50/15.

my preference is the bfg's, they lasted longer than the mtr's I ran and are quieter on the street.
the mtrs (in the e rated tires, i've never paid attention to the lighter rated tires) have heavier sidewalls.

I prefer the BFGs. The MT/Rs are pretty quiet on the highway and are really nice in mud and loose rocks, but in the wet and on slick rock, such as granite, they lack bite. The BFGs are newer technology and everything the MT/R is, plus better on rock.

BFG's, the MTR's don't last long on the highway. Also check out Pro-Comp mud terrains, Cooper SST mud terrains. I'm running Coopers on my truck now and they're great in mud, rock, and highway, they have pleanty of sipping so even on wet roads they're good.

I don't do any rock wheelin'. Not alot of that terrain here in Neb. According to reviews, both tires are supposed to be pretty good in mud with BFGs maybe a little better. Which tire is better in snow? I know mud terrains aren't good on ice blah, blah, blah. In the future my rig will be for hunting and play only, then hopefully restored. I still just want to run 32/11.50/15s right now. Thanks for the replies.

Both do well in snow, but still the BFG is going to outshine the MTR's on the highway. On the ice, you want a mud tire with pleanty of sipping on the tread.

beings to how the trXus M/T's got drug in here,
compared to the trXus the mtr's and the km's are nothing more than a all terrains... the hwy manners aren't as good but the performance is awesome. I run em on my tj and the burb.
here's some hard frozen snow and sticky clay mud..

BFGs are a little more affordable. I think I will get them. I also will see if someone around here can sip them.

Ok, I just discovered that the Cooper STT is also made in a 32/11.50/15. What about these vs. BFGs?

I'm still on board with the bfg's over the coopers..
the stt's are a good tire though, almost the same tread as the toyo m/t's at a lower cost and lighter casing.

Don't get me wrong I like BFG's, in fact I used to be a die hard BFG man. Until I tried a set of Cooper SST's om my Ranger. The highway manners are about the same, the Cooper is better on wet roads because of the sipping. In the mud the Coopers clean out with a little less wheel speed. Plus with the Coopers new sidewall design, where the lugs extend 1/3 the way down the sidewall they have alot of protection. I still run BFG's on my Jeep and probably continue to buy them, but i'm really pleased with tring the Coopers.

I've read alot of reviews on the Coopers and everyone has nothing but great things to say about them. I'm gonna check prices and see which one is more available. Are there any other tires out there that can compare to these with performance and treadlife?

For what you're going to be using for, I would compare prices on the, BFG's, Cooper SST, and the Pro Comp Mud terrains. They all have about the same treadlife, and the performance is close to the same. I think price is going to be your determaning factor, as with all of us. They're more tire options available, but tend to be a little more pricey. I recomend these three because they're tough durable tires at reasonable prices, but hey if you can find a set of Toyo Open Country's or Nitto Grapplers on sale,(I doubt it) cheaper, Jump on it!
