I got two crew cab duallies that are in the 80's. The rearend's look like dana70's. I want to keep one of them,but I like to find out more about them if I can. THanks for the help.

Assuming they are GM trucks, they should be Dana 70s---it was the most common rearend used in Chevy DRW applications in the ‘80s---though we’d have to have a look at them to be absolutely certain. The D70 is a full-floating design with a 10.5-inch ring gear diameter. There were a couple of different versions of this axle used during that time period, one of which was rated at 7,500 pounds with 1.50-inch-diameter, 35-spline-outer axle shafts, and another HD version that was rated at 10,000 pounds due primarily to larger (4.125-inch) carrier bearings and tubes; the 7,500-pound non-HD version was most commonly used in GM applications. Available ring and pinion ratios (OE and aftermarket) ranged from 3.07:1 to 7.17:1, and lockers are (or were) made for them by ARB, Detroit, Ox, Lock-Right and PowerTrax. Replacement shafts are available from Yukon, and Superior, Yukon and Precision Gear all sell aftermarket ring and pinions for them. Strengthwise, they are about on a par with the GM 14-bolt and Ford Sterling 10.5-inch, and should hold up to 40-inch tires (maybe 44s, if you’ve got the HD version, which were mostly used on Dodge trucks) without much trouble if you don’t go too crazy on the throttle. Other than the numbers what else would you like  to see? Right now can't get the numbers (its raining here). I've found a truck that says it was a camper special rated at 10,000 on the emblems, don't know if that's what your refering to or if your referring to the dodge. Thanks for your help.
