Yea where is that thing coming from...
We were out wheelin this weekend and we saw our first Unimog in WA, we never saw it again as it passed the camp site we met at but still it caught everyones eye...
Looking forward to seeing that thing at Pismo!!!

It is /was in Gaggenau Germany..it should be on a boat in the next 12 hours then in long beach in 2-3 weeks...

Out of curiousity, how much does it cost to have something like that shipped to the States from overseas? If you don't mind me asking, of course.

I think Kevin will be helping to go pick it up. I also have a friend who owns a few unimogs also onboard to help put it back together and bring it home. I am sure it will be an interesting experience. it looks like we will need a couple of forklifts...

Doug it cost 2490 Euros....which sucks because the dollar is worth *** at todays shitty rate is would be 3900...but when i paid for it it was only 3400 : )

Thanks for the info, I figured it would be somewhere around three grand to ship. Forgot about the exchange-rate factor, though. Ouch! Be sure to post more pics when you've taken it home.

man doc, thats coooool...i had one in our shop up here in montana some dude has for fun,its a 2 door w/a gun turret on the pass side of rig,we had to put a new tcase in it that took about 4months to get redone for him then shipped back to us from colorado...man that thing is awesome.it was all camoed out w/german writing all over it.

sweet doc...how wide is the new rig? will it fit in the drive way to go in the back of the house?

Craig Unimog 416 width is 83 in and the Duramax was 79...so not a big difference.

It just got stuck in a 8' wide container...I doubt it's any wider than a dually pu.
