My rig is a 1986 Chevy, 454, K20, I put a 6” BDS lift and 35” tires on it, but my question was do I need a sway bar? The shop I got the lift from sad the ride will be smother with out it, but I was thinking that wont it be more wear on stuff if I don’t have it in. and would it make a big difference to the body role if I still had it?

This is a good question. It will ride better with is off but with higher CG from lift it will tend to roll more in turns. How much is rolls and how much the sway bar might help depends on how stiff you current springs are. If they are pretty stiff it is not going to make much difference in ride or roll.

it would be to have it on unless you like the uneasy feeling of the sub trying to rollover on you (not literally) my 86 sub 1/2 ton i put a skyjacker 6" lift on it too and was waiting for the new drop down brackets for my sway bar and had to drive it w/out it on and man for a while i was about ready to schit my pants because of the body roll.and there are brackets out there to relocate the frt sway bar if needed.
and yes my sub did ride better w/out the sway on going straight down the road until i turned then it was harry@!
