ok she was just fine yesterday, got in today and she took off fine in first no funny noises or anything just wont shift, i tried running it in all gears checked the fluid i dont know much about my truck and could use any input  

Check that the vaccum line from the intake/carb to the shift modulator (round thingy on the side of the trans if it's a th400 if the tranny is a th350 it will be on the rear of the tranny)if this line comes off somehow the tranny will not shift.  

cool thanks i thought it might be a vacuum problem but had no idea where to look
