Need some advice on a engine swap for the super cherokee

I have two oppurtunitys that im about to do once i get a little more cash the first is buying a short block with a stroker kit stage 1 cam forged pistons rods. etc. basicaly a built balls to the wall 4.0 inline six or a buddy of mine tottaled his early 90's chevy truck with a new trans and fairly new 305 although it would be a pain im willing to try the 305 in it but has anyone heard of doing this or no where i could get the adapters id need and what not honestly im lost and the projects at a stand still because of it.

i would stay with the 4.0. they are geat motors, and you'll save in weight. unless you have some monster lift on you'r jeep.

Even if you have a monster lift, the 4.0 can do a good job if you take the time to PROPERLY regear the axles. Many do not and then blame the engine for the lack of performance when they should be blaming the nut behind the wheel.

LOL.  Your second sentance made me laugh snoman.

I would go with the built 4.0 I-6.  Later on if you still needed more power, you could add a super charger.  But by all means gear the axles correctly for the tire size.
