Hi what we have here is the highly coveted Dana 60 reverse cut/high pinion/with Kingpins out of a 1979 Ford f250 Snow-fighter with 4500 GVW out of a recent drvr.3:54 gears. im thinking if this would be a good choose for my solid axle swap in my 94 chevy 1/2 ton. but if this works what should i put in the rear? right now the d60 has 3:54 but i need to go deeper. im no axle expert so how should i go about this?

What axle ratio you select depends on tire size but generally if you have any kind of lift at all you want at least a 4.56 for up to 33's or so. (do not let these numbers scare you, you have a OD tranny and they play really well with deep axle gears)  Yukon makes reverse rotation D60 gear sets up to 5.38. You can have the gears two ways, thick which means you can use your current carrier or std thickness which mean you have yo use a 4 series carrier (for 4.30 or deeper) Your current carrier supports std gear thickness up to 4.10. I trust you are planning a rear axle upgrade too because it is kinda a waste to use the D60 up front and 10 bolt in rear.

what is the point of reverse cut. the d60 i found says reverse cut\high pinion\with kingpis.
what does all that mean. i just want a d60 in front and not sure for the rear but hopefully something just as strong. i've thought about a 14 bolt in the rear. i'm just so lost when it comes to axles

Reverse cut/high pinion are the same. Basically it means the diff "pig" is inverted on axle and it raises pinion about 4 to 5 inches and reduces drive angle on front drive shaft with a big lift.
