i have a noise coming from the front right side of my 2001 chevy s10 crewcab. i have had people suggest thats its a wheel bearing. and some suggest that the its tire inflation problem or lack of grease in the front. i greased the front, equlized the tire presures and and rotated the tires and the noise still occurs. any susggestion? thanks for the help.

It could be the wheel bearings. What does the noise sound like? Does vehical speed make any difference in sound? Does the noise change while turning?

if it's your hub, make sure you get it fixed. I let mine go a little too long and I snapped an axle shaft.

Check the wheel bearings! Actually I think this is a "unit bearing" style. Meaning its sealed and unserviceable. Check a Chilton manual to make sure before you tear in to it. Also why your down under there check your CVs as well as the boots and suspention bushings. This could be contrubting to your squeeks as well

its not like a squel its more of a constant grinding of something. like dirt got in somewhere its not sopose to. turning does affect it. its only when i go staight or turn to the right. and the noise doesnt sound significantly different a higher speeds. maybe just louder.

maybe take your frt wheel off and take the caliper off and clean the surface of the rotor/pads w/brake clean...probably got a tiny stone in there causing the problem...

i dont think its brakes. wouldnt using the brakes make the noise worse? and the noise does go away after im below a certain speed. like 25 mph or lower.

Check prices from different parts stores before buying the unit bearing (bearing/hub assembly). Also there are cheap ones and good ones. If you plan to keep the vehical get the good one. On the price checking, when I had to replace a unit bearing on my 95 ZJ, I found a $50.00 difference between two stores I buy from (NAPA was higher than Parts Plus).
