I am going to build a 383 for my 92 K-1500. Right now I just have the block(3970010). I have never built a stroker before and I want to do it right. I am thinking about using a Scat cast crank rotating assembly. As far as the rest I cant make up my mind (heads, carb vs TBI,  etc). So I would appreciate any info I can get.

Just get a 400 SB crank and have the main bearing journals turned down to fit block and then use a 400 SB damper and flywheel and 400 rods and then you can use stock 350 pistons. (if you want to use 350 rods you will need aftermarket pistons)  This will give you a 377 with stock bore or a 383 if you bore it 30 over. This used stock parts to keep costs down.

That makes sense to use as many stock parts as possible, I just wonder if it isn't cheaper now with all the different after market stroker kits to use on of them. The cranks already turned. Thanks Snowman I'll do some pricing.
